Growing a primordial mathmatical musical soup into the burps and squelches of acid techno, and back again.

Using live coding and genetic algorithms, lsystem production rule sets are created from scratch, hacked in realtime and used to produce musical scores that are immediately played. The entire process is projected for all to see, in accordance with the TOPLAP livecoding manifesto.

Written for the sound of an organ patch on my TX802. Probably not exactly playable by human players. The prelude is a blues, the fugue is a grab-bag of well-known contrapuntal techniques.

Composed with Sequencer Plus and recorded in Ardour.

The last piece in a series of trios written for my student Sam Strathman and his family. This one is actually a quartet, percussion was added after the piece was written as a trio. Instruments included QSynth (using the Room drums from a standard GM soundfont), Jack Rack (with the Versatile Plate Reverb), Sequencer Plus Gold (running in DOSemu), and ecasound. The riff owes a little to Donovan's River Song, but not much. Dedicated to Steve Doonan and Thorsten Wilms.
